I thought of making a skin that shows how much internet the applications in use use.
Example: Chrome 1mbit/s, Torrent 55mbit/s, Network 20 mbit/s, Total 76 mbit/s etc. Is it possible to make such a skin?

No, it is not. I've been wanting to do this for a very long time as well. The problem is that there is no convenient source for this information; it is not in the Performance Counters database (accessible by the UsageMonitor plugin). It is possible to find this data (the Resource Monitor app shows it, for example), but you'd need to create a plugin for it and it is extremely non-trivial.
